Can I tell you how much I love my husband being in the Bishopbric. I was really scared at first, with him being gone. But it seems that the Lord compensates for him being gone. I get to church 15 minutes early where before we were walking in as it started. I don't fight with maddie on her choice of clothing. She usually dresses pretty easily now days. 80% of the time my kids all have shoes on were it used to be 25%. On the weeknights when he is gone the kids go to bed pretty easily were we use to chase them back to there rooms 20 or 30 times. I think that he feels alot more complete now. He seems to be alot happier serving. I am still scared spitless for the time change when I have to have the kids dressed, tummys full and hair done by 9:00 A.M. The baby will also come at the time of the earlier meetings. If anyone has any advice as to what to do with getting 5 kids ready that quick I would love it. (It cannot include waking up really early :)_
I hope everyone does not get bored with my blog it is a journal for me so I try to put my day to day thoughts and feelings along with my kids happenings.

I hate to admit what a lazy mom I can be, but here are a few things that work for me. Most nights, I let my kids sleep in the next days clothing. Who needs pjs?! Dresses may not work that well- we haven't tried it for church, but it works for school. Maybe they could sleep in their slip and make sure shoes & dress are laid out the night before. Also, I often do Keirra's hair in something with little tiny ponys and leave it for a few days. My neighbor sometimes sends her daughter over on Sat. night and I fix it for Sunday am. If you choose the hair style well it works great! My friend recently started an incentive for her kids to be ready on time. Who ever is all the way ready first gets to choose their favorite seat in the van, second person ready gets to choose next and so forth (since they always fight over that). You could try something like that. I have a really hard time being on time to church, so I completely feel for you! Good luck!

I am always way impressed that you guys make it to church on time! We are always dragging in late-I hope the 9:00 is better for us! (Wishful thinking) If you ever need any help with the new time change or when your sweet little guy arrives just holler!

Shelli totally took my idea to have them sleep in their church clothes. My kids fell asleep once in their church clothes after a Saturday night wedding reception, and it made my life a lot easier that next morning before church! Worked great once, why not every week? :) When I was a kid, my mom always made sure we layed out our Sunday outfit (slip, dress, tights, shoes, everything) on Saturday night. You'll be fine, Janae, and Megan's such a good helper with the younger ones, right?

Do EVERYTHING you can the night before, baths, clothes laid out socks, shoes, hair bows, etc. Also don't worry about perfect hair if it is combed and clean then that should be good enough. I bet Megan and Ashley are old enough to get Maddie and Lexi dressed (ali is always a big help with that when she is here). Good luck!

My only advice for getting the kids ready quickly would be to have bathes the night before. My mom always put those pink sponge curlers in our hair the night before or in little braids. The when we woke up she just took them out fixed it a little and threw on a dress. Done!
Easy for me to say I only have boys and I still have a hard time getting to church on time or anywhere for that matter.
Good Luck, you look great. You won't have to fix your baby boys hair so that will save you a little time.
You will do awesome.

You'd think with all girls too, I'd have some good suggestions but I don't. Life is a zoo at our house on Sundays. You are usually there before we are. So I'm planning on watching how you do it next year so I can follow. Good Luck-I know you'll do amazing.
